A heartfelt thanks to our City Council and staff, and to everyone who showed up at City Council on Monday evening to give testimony for the need, for moving with a Resolution for a State Ban to slow down the current fracking boom that could easily bust us with its inadequately addressed dangers.
Meanwhile, Bill Wynn, President, Culver City Democratic Club, invites us to the club’s Fourth of July picnic at Carlson Park, starting at 11, to celebrate our engagement to keep democracy flourishing. (See Community Update nearby.)
Here is his announcement:
The Culver City Democratic Club invites you to their Fourth of July picnic, a community celebration with friends and neighbors, the most American of traditions. It is a BBQ, so bring something to grill or a dish to share. The event is free and open to the public from 11 to 3 Braddock Drive and Motor Avenue, Culver City.
Mr. Wynn’s number is 213.300.1194.
From11:30 till about noon, please join us to share your felt sense of Monday night's meeting, as well as to discuss our next steps to keep participatory democracy alive and well in Culver City, especially in respect to this whole fracking issue.
Let's support one another's inner fire and works, crackling for the common good.
I am grateful to live in Culver City, a caring community, and privileged to call you, my friends.
