Culver City’s Parks, Recreation & Community Services Dept. has invited the public to attend the grand re-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Vets Auditorium one week from tomorrow, Friday, April 13, at 11 a.m.

The $461,300 renovation project began three months ago, on Jan. 3. The renovation includes the reconstruction of the facility’s restrooms and cosmetic improvements to the six meeting rooms and five classrooms. The project also includes new seating in the lower level of the Auditorium and the addition of a family changing room. The renovation project has made the Complex a more welcoming, brighter, and more comfortable environment.

The project was a collaborative effort, and the Parks Dept. saluted the following:

• The Public Works Dept. for its construction management, support and guidance.

• The Senior Citizens Assn. for its financial support in the amount of $5,500 to enhance the Multipurpose and Rotunda rooms.

• The contractor Damon, Inc.

The city worked to lessen the impact of the renovation by accommodating users into other City facilities during this renovation.

“This project will allow the city to host a wider variety of events for our community and visitors to enjoy”, said Mayor Mehaul O’Leary.
