Culver City, Where Have You Gone?

I remember when Culver City was a civil place to be.

Politics was civil. Sure, a hit piece here or there. Overall, though, campaigns stayed above the line. People didn’t attack families. Criticism was leveled based on the job an elected official had done.

I remember when family counted in Culver City. Protect your family, home and self.

Today, the citizens truly believe they are in Los Angeles, fighting the big greed. It has become a sorry state of affairs with the entire Scott Malsin mess.

Talk about entitlement…

People spurting personal hate. People putting themselves above a person’s family. After reading what has been said, I never would put you first above my family.

Unfortunately, blogs, newspaper editorials, internet papers, have all opened the forums to empower the distasteful remarks that are like personal bullets being shot at the candidates.

Soon the election will be over. Soon four souls will be asked to “Protect our city, our family, our assets,” with no regard for all that has been said in poison pens against those from whom they will want political favors.

So I looked up the definition of iberals: (See the bolded lines…)

b. Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

It is sad to see how Culver City politics has degenerated to the lowest level in the region. Scott, Andy, Jeff, Mehaul and Chris have done a terrific job of keeping the city healthy, protected, safe, with sustained services. Do not forget who they are…

While Chris will be missed, I believe the four and Mr. Clarke will keep the city on its proper footing, serving all citizens, even those who spew hate from their pens…

Exercise your true rights, and go out and vote next Tuesday…
