City Council candidate Meghan Sahli-Wells recently won endorsements from County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Culver City Democratic Club, Culver City Employees Assn., the County Democratic Party, the National Women’s Political Caucus-Los Angeles Westside, and Southern California Americans for Democratic Action.

“As the city’s representative on the Board of Supervisors, I know the issues facing Culver City and its people, and I know Meghan Sahli-Wells will work tirelessly for the betterment of the city,” Ridley-Thomas.

“Her work on efforts to improve services, health, the economy, the environment, demonstrate her leadership and her commitment to making life better for everyone. She will make an effective Council member.”

The only woman in the six-candidate field for the April 10 election, Ms. Sahli-Wells has been endorsed by all five members of the School Board, Councilman Chris Armenta, U. S. Rep. Karen Bass (D-Culver City) and state Assemblymember Holly Mitchell (D-Culver City).

“From development to environment to education to transportation, she has the knowledge and experience to lead,” said Mr. Armenta, who is retiring next month.

“School Board and Council members who cooperate on community issues directly benefit their city,” said School Board Member Nancy Goldberg. “That potential for exchange is why I support her candidacy.”

“Meghan’s level of dedication to her school and neighborhood is rare,” said School Board Member Laura Chardiet.

Ms. Sahli-Wells says her platform is hitched to three issues, “fiscal responsibility, smart development and sustainability. We have spent the last few years tightening the budget. We don’t want to lose services that have made Culver City a great place to live. We have to maximize the resources we do have.”
