[Editor’s Note: Ahead of tonight’s much-anticipated School Board meeting at 7 o’clock in Council Chambers, the Board President was asked his view of the numerous responses by parents in recent days to the unionization issue at El Marino Language School and elsewhere.]

As I have said before, I very much appreciate parents who are involved in helping to raise money for our schools.

I also appreciate those parents who are expressing their policy beliefs on how the adjunct program should be run.

I hope that the personal attacks against our employees will diminish as we all adopt a more respectful tone.

In the end, this is a legal question well beyond my knowledge of labor law. I look forward to hearing from our staff tonight and from our attorneys in the near future.
