I agree the outcome of last November's School Board election certainly is the catalyst for the District's current state of flux.
Mr. Noonan indicates the “unexpected ouster of Board President Scott Zeidman by voters was in part traced to a curious voting pattern.”
“Bullet voting” may have played a small part in the election outcome, but it wasn't the major factor. Voters, who selected two candidates on their ballot, were more inclined to vote Goldberg-Chardiet, than Goldberg-Zeidman. Additionally, voters were more inclined to vote Zeidman-Chardiet, than Goldberg-Chardiet.
Recognizing this, Laura Chardiet likely mined the voter data base to drive parents with an inconsistent voting history out to the polls on Election Day.
Ms. Chardiet's endorsement by the Chamber of Commerce likely appealed to the few high-propensity Republican voters in Culver City who are leery of union power grabbing, like the union ACE attempting to wrap its tentacles tightly around El Marino Language School right now.
Voters didn't necessarily “oust” Scott Zeidman as much as they “elected” Laura Chardiet.
Changing Subjects
Former City Councilman Scott Malsin should take the Demo-Silbergercrat Club's snub as a badge of honor. Remember back to the School Board race when Laura Chardiet received the same snub?
How'd that work out for the club?
Ms. Chardiet proved being a competent candidate and surrounding herself with competent campaign stragtegists is much more important than the blessing of the local Democrat Clique.
