Why the Left Needs a Heavy Dose of Sensitivity Training

In its ceaseless search for victims, the Left rides again, straight over another steep cliff. They never even noticed.

Except when he is blatantly wrong, I find it delightfully comfortable to endorse the activities of state Sen. Curren D. Price Jr. (D-Culver City).

Welcome to Blatantly Wrong Day.

As every child over the age of 6 knows, legislators are the busiest persons on our universe, although the adjective sometimes is translated as “busybodies” rather than “busiest persons.”

Which brings us to Sen. Price’s ostensibly harmless 7-paragraph (!) Friday afternoon press release that welcomed the suspension of KFI’s afternoon team of John and Ken for calling Whitney Houston a “crack whore or ‘ho’.”

Further, Sen. Price or the caucus said they should be canned. Further, all of their present and future children should be maimed, then killed. (Sorry, just kidding about the last part.)

The tremendously busy, laser-focused Black Caucus really did say that even though they are astonishingly busy, they will advocate using the Left’s weapon of choice, a boycott of John and Ken’s employer if their employer refuses to fire them. (Do you stillwonder why we need a part-time Legislature, 1 or 2 months a year?)

Let us acknowledge the boys at KFI erred. Their observation was tasteless.

Had they branded Rick Santorum or his wife Karen “crack whores,” hey, what’s the problem? Those right-wing fanatics never could take a joke.

In righteous indignation as chair of the California Legislative Black Caucus – I am so tempted to say non-partisan caucus – Sen. Price begins on what was intended to be a laudatory note:

“The untimely and mysterious death of singer Whitney Houston has shocked and saddened not only her family and friends but millions of her fans around the world who were thrilled and inspired by her musical genius and hard work in the entertainment world for more than 20 years.”

Only in the most arcane, elastic truth sense is Sen. Price correct.

Forty-eight has not been the average age of death since the 19th century. Ms. Houston’s brain and body were so addled from years of criminal drug and alcohol abuse that she may have thought we still were living in the 1800s.

A wise person once said we never should speak ill of the dead. If he or she is from the Left. If the dead person is from the Right, truth is our most important product.

Let’s tamp down the false piety about this woman, dear friends on the Left. That was not St. Whitney who ended her life prematurely.

As of this morning, there was not a rash of pill-popping, drug-abusing 48-year-old ladies all over our planet going to their graves prematurely out of sheer exhaustion from overpraying.

I digress.

Sen. Price continued:

“While these radio shock jocks (John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou) are known for their uncivil and off-color on the airways, John and Ken of KFI-AM stooped to a new low when they characterized the deceased popular singer as a ‘crack ho.’

“The California Black Legislative Caucus denounces their insensitive and vulgar statements and calls for their immediate resignation. Their two-week suspension is not enough.”

Obviously, it was an horrendously slow day in Sacramento – you say there are 365 of them? – for Sen. Price and his pals in the caucus to rip themselves away from their vital jobs to worry about two guys on the radio in Los Angeles.

Our disappointingly dishonest friends on the Left are humorously selective in their victim cries.

When one of their own dives into the gutter, ah, our dear friends sneeze and say with their paralyzed faces, “We saw nothing.”

The Left must be related to Ray Charles.

Bet your children’s inheritance that the putatively vigilant watchdogs on the Left won’t dare express a drop of indignation about Slapsie Maxie’s latest calculated flirtation with the butterfly net. Courage is MIA.

America’s Oldest Living Tramp, the truly vulgar U.S. Rep. Slapsie Maxie Waters (D-South Los Angeles), who keeps getting re-elected by our country’s dumbest voters, has resurrected her tiresome, obscene anti-Republican act again. She could have killed vaudeville if it still had been breathing. Maybe she did.

The most undisciplined, foul-mouthed member of Congress, Slapsie Maxie Baby dresses up in a fake syrupy Southern accent whenever she goes shopping for attention from the Right.

Unlike St. Whitney, Slapsie is not known to have the excuse of drugs and booze to blame for her sluttish behavior.

Being a liberal, she is insulated from mainstream rebukes, which coddles a barnyard full of such embarrassments.

Being devoid of brave persons, the Left showers outrage on two fairly obscure radio guys while a lunatic member of their own family, who acts as if she should be in mental jail, preens periodically for a day or two, and then slinks home to the gutter, unscathed.

Not one person on the cowardly Left can summon the courage to call her out – or he will be summarily punished.

Slapsie’s latest violation of minimal civil behavior:

Rep. Maxine Waters, no stranger to controversy, is turning heads once again, this time for describing House Republican leaders as “demons.”

The California Democrat's comments, which surfaced Wednesday, were made last weekend at a state party convention in San Diego. Video of her speech shows her rallying Democrats to win back control of the House in November.

“I saw pictures of Boehner and Cantor on our screens (at the convention). Don't ever let me see again, in life, those Republicans in our hall, on our screens, talking about anything. These are demons,” she told the crowd. “They are bringing down this country, destroying this country, because they’d rather do whatever they can do destroy this president rather than for the good of this country.”

Needless to say, those comments didn't win her any friends on the other side of the aisle. “That is a sad and unfortunate speech from a senior House Democrat, particularly at a time when we should be trying to find common ground on ways to get Americans back to work,” Cantor spokesman Brad Dayspring said Wednesday.

Waters, in her speech, also boasted that banks will be “shaking in their boots” if Democrats take back the house and she becomes the House Financial Services Committee chairwoman. She currently is the second-ranking Democrat on the committee behind Rep. Barney Frank, who isn't running for re-election this year.

Whether Democrats would let her chair the committee is another matter, given that Waters continues to face an ethics investigation into her potential role in securing federal money for a bank with ties to her husband.

And she sparked controversy last year when she told a partisan crowd, “as far as I'm concerned, the Tea Party can go straight to hell.”

I am still waiting for Sen.Price and his fellow members on the Left to scold her incivil behavior.

The hottest news in America for the past month has been a Chinese basketball player from the New York Knickerbockers, who has been lashed and insulted across the land for springing from unfavored culture.

Defending this poor chap must not be part of the Black Caucus’s mission. Victims must fit a certain narrow paradigm.
