Re “The Ache of the Moment Will Not Die”
I want to apologize for not stating publically at our last School Board meeting how grateful I am to Supt. Patti Jaffe for her service to our kids and our community for the past 41 years.
I had the pleasure of getting to know Patti when I was president of the Culver City Council of PTAs. As a fellow educator, we always had a lot to talk about and share.
I consider her a friend. I am so saddened I will not be able to work with her on the Board past June. She has cheated me out of teasing her in PTA skits and songs as I love to do!
As evidenced at the new Board member swearing-in ceremony, Patti and I are prone to public displays of emotion.
My refrain from comment at our recent Board meeting was an attempt to cover an abundance of feelings, not because there was a lack of feeling.
In hindsight, I shouldn't have worried about the running mascara.
