On Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4, Mr. Clarke, longtime political aide and consultant, will host a fundraiser at the Westside Peace Center, 3916 Sepulveda, between Venice Boulevard and Washington Place, former home of the Democratic Party’s Westside headquarters.
In the month since Mr. Clarke, a deputy to Mayor Villaraigosa, declared his candidacy for the April 10 election.
He has been setting a ferocious pace.
“I have been spending my time making rounds,” Mr. Clarke said. “I have been going to commission meetings, attending community events, the Historical Society last night. I was at the Chamber of Commerce breakfast yesterday morning. Tonight I am going to the Friends of the Library dinner.”
