Saundra Davis, unchallenged as the fashion leader of the School Board for the past six years, made a striking return to good health at last night’s meeting.

The combination of her vividly cranberry suit and natural good looks set her apart from the swarms of people squeezing into the Board Room at School District Headquarters for the new member Installation Ceremony.

Intriguingly, a question looms as to how long Ms. Davis will serve with the newly constituted Board.

Groundbreaking Is Friday for Park Century School’s New Campus

Park Century School will break ground on its new campus at a ceremony beginning at 1:30 on Friday, at the site, 3939 Landmark St., Culver City.
The non-profit, independent, co-educational day school, founded in1968 is converting an existing 37,000-square-foot warehouse-style building into a campus that includes 11 classrooms, nine group rooms, 13 independent study rooms and a gymnasium.

Valverde Death Hits Hard on the Culver High Campus — School Aids Family

The sudden death last weekend of Rudy Valverde, a much loved parent, soccer aficionado and booster of Culver City High School, still has the campus reeling.
Funeral services are pending, according to officials.
Mr. Valverde was a father of three children, two in college and one a student at the high school.
Friends say the family can use monetary donations, and the high school is pitching in directly.

Council Tones Down Smoking Ban Proposal — Outdoor Dining Areas Hit

Further, said Vice Mayor Carol Gross, the matter is so inconsequential to residents that not a single one bothered to stop by last night’s City Council meeting to comment.
