Sticker Fun

Robert EbsenOP-ED

After all the work I put into a popup card, why send the card with a smudge on it. What better way to cover up smudges on my popup cards than covering them with…

A Quarter-Inch Solution

Robert EbsenOP-ED

On the very bottom of my popup cards I now cut off a long sliver in the shape of a triangle, with altitude of a quarter-inch and base of 11 inches. Why, you ask? So that my popup card recipient has the option of…

Winnie with the Kite

Robert EbsenOP-ED

So I am fixated on my popup cards. So I spend most of my retired free time (1) locating sharp, colorful Google Images of background pictures and characters that turn me on, (2) cutting out the characters, (3) hot gluing the characters onto the backgrounds, (4) completing the cards with covers, and (5)…

From Email to Snail Mail

Robert EbsenOP-ED

Yes, most of us have graduated from snail mail to email. But when it comes to sending birthday and anniversary greetings, I may be going backwards. My popup card hobby has taken off to the point where I can now produce…

This is because I now inject the ink into the sponge part of the cartridge, not into…

Duhs, Nos. 39-41

Robert EbsenOP-ED

To think, all these years, walking around with my shoulders forward, and my head even more forward. I noticed it for the first time last month in the pictures and videos we took at the beach. Something was wrong with my posture, but I could not put my finger on it. Last week, I discovered that…

More Pain in the Neck

Robert EbsenOP-ED

My neck and shoulder pain began two months ago when I rested my neck on hard metal chairs at the airport for several hours. That pain lasted two weeks. Just five days ago, I was in the pool working out with weights, and I probably overdid it. This more recent pain starts during the day between 11 and 2, and it continues toward the evening.

Duhs Nos. 33-38

Robert EbsenOP-ED

Here we are again – another round of Duhs, thanks to Siri, who adds my thoughts to my iPhone’s “Duhs Note” as I think of them.
