Dateline Dayton — Pauline and I would like to share with you highlights of wonderful vacation, which began on Sept. 9. Before we start:

Dateline Dayton — During the summer months of my youth, it was not uncommon to find my buddies and me in our backyard, building something. In our yard, we already had what today would be called storage building. A clubhouse by day, we used it at night to store our bicycles and scooters.

Dateline Dayton — The first of September was our 48th wedding anniversary. Today I would like to share some events along the way to that special day.

Dateline Dayton — This coming Tuesday will mark our 48th wedding anniversary.

Dateline Dayton — I am on a nostalgia kick. The ‘50s were a great time to be growing up in a small town.

Dateline Dayton — A couple weeks ago I ended my essay with a comment about the “good old days,” which got me to thinking about what I enjoyed in my youth, such as the neighborhood grocery.

Dateline Dayton — The BP dealers in the Dayton area are advertising on radio that we should support our neighbors and friends by purchasing fuel at a BP station. I can’t bring myself to do that.

Dateline Dayton — The Catholic church and its religious have been under fire for some time.
