Dateline Dayton – As I mentioned last week, I was taking Milton and Elizabeth, our guests from Australia, to Michigan, for a visit to the Ford Museum and Greenfield Village.

Dateline Dayton – The past weekend was a busy one as Howard, my cash register-collecting buddy, and I were hosting Cash Register Collectors Club members and guests.

Dateline Dayton – Pauline and I went to see the 1966 film “The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming” last weekend at the Cool Film Series, at the Victoria Theatre, in downtown Dayton. I have written about this outstanding film series in the past. I believe we are heading in the same direction in 2012, although this time it will not be a comedy.

Dateline Dayton – Here in Ohio, all we hear about is how cash-strapped California is, how services must be cut, and layoffs are common.

Dateline Dayton – On the final Tuesday morning of our trip out West, we were up early to catch our flight to Atlanta. From there it was on to Dayton, home at last. I dropped off my wife, my sister and our luggage at the airport, while Willie, my brother-in-law, and I returned the rental car.

Dateline Dayton –Final chapter of our visit out West: Prior to leaving the medical facility at the Grand Canyon, the doctor asked about our plans. We would be taking the train back to Williams, spending the night there before visiting other canyons, ending at Bryce and then returning to Las Vegas.

Dateline Dayton –AAfter having breakfast on Monday morning at our hotel in Las Vegas, my sister, brother-in-law, Pauline and I were on our way to the Western rim of the Grand Canyon.

Dateline Dayton –A week ago Friday, Pauline, my sister, her husband and I boarded an airplane on the first leg of our journey to the Grand Canyon.
