Sticker Fun

Robert EbsenOP-ED

After all the work I put into a popup card, why send the card with a smudge on it. What better way to cover up smudges on my popup cards than covering them with theme-related stickers!

For that “Finding Nemo” card smudge, a small fish, starfish or turtle sticker will do.

For a “”Winnie in the Garden” card smudge, a butterfly, flower, chipmunk, or ladybug sticker will do.

Covering up smudges was the motivation for my trip to Michael’s yesterday. I had so much fun browsing for stickers. Now with a box full of beautiful stickers, I am getting ideas for how to use these stickers for more than just covering smudges.

One idea is to laminate certain stickers, or larger images of those stickers, and use them as pictures that pop up in my cards.

Another is to place a sticker next to my name on the back of the card. It gives my “signature” a kind of special ambiance.

I can also place a sticker on the envelope, to alert the recipient of what is forthcoming.

I can use stickers inside my cartoon-type popup cards to enhance the overall image.
