Men, ages 55 and older, and women, 45 and up, play softball on Sunday mornings at Veterans Park in the Culver City Senior Softball League.
New players of all abilities are invited to play in pickup games, at 9 a.m., in December and January before the start of the new season when they can be added to team rosters.
Rostered players need not feel obligated to participate every Sunday.
Managers can get substitutes from the free agent pool during the 10-month season.
About 100 senior softball players play in the slow-pitch league that provides an opportunity to have fun playing a game they love and making new friends.
“Everyone hits, runs, fields, throws and jokes around as if the clock has been turned back to our younger days,” said league commissioner Rich Jebejian.
“We make it safe and fun for everyone.”
