Colin Diaz today has been selected as president and CEO of the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, succeeding the now-retired Steve Rose.
Mr. Rose was the face of the Chamber for 30 years.
Nov. 13 will be Mr. Diaz’s first day.
He has spent 18 years in management, marketing, sales and community outreach.
Previous ventures have spanned the sports, entertainment, education, hospitality and chamber sectors.
Most recently Mr. Diaz was marketing and sales director for the Santa Fe Springs Chamber.
In Santa Fe Springs, he drove new-member growth and encouraged engagement and the utilization of resources. He also supported advocacy efforts on a local and regional scale.
Mr. Diaz brings an impressive educational background with an MBA from Duke University and an MFA from Chapman University.
As part of the Santa Fe Springs Chamber team, he used a blend of his professional, personal and educational experience to elevate the Chamber brand and to protect the reputation of the Chamber.
Mr. Diaz’s range of educational, professional and practical experience should allow him to be in-tune with current trends and technology while still being rooted in practices that have led businesses for decades.
He has been regarded as a future industry influencer, and he currently sits on both the W.A.C.E. Conference Committee, as well as the W.A.C.E. Emerging Leaders Advisory Council.
Personally, Mr. Diaz values spending family time with the beautiful women in his home – his wife Alicia and 4-year old daughter Shanice.
When he is not there or visiting their extended families, you can find him on a basketball court. Always active, he uses that energy and enthusiasm in both professional and personal endeavors.
Mr. Diaz’s leadership skills, chamber background should bridge the changeover from the old regime to the new.
Paul Goldstein, chair of the Chamber board, said he is confident Mr. Diaz “will bring continued success to the Culver City Chamber as we begin a new era after three decades of Steve’s unique leadership style.
Mr. Diaz will be available at 310.287.3855 and his email will be colin@culvercitychamber.com.
