Hello Cincinnati, Goodbye Columbus

How ironic that on the same day the Los Angeles City Council flashed its odd sense of humor by creating (seriously?) Indigenous Peoples Day, my fiancé and I were having lunch with my farthest left friend.

As a conversation opener, I asked him why he was a leftist?

He felt threatened. His troubled, evasive, cutesy, avoidance-plagued non-answer eloquently described the breed of Americans who swing left with a swagger.

An urbane, intellectual thinker, he ducked like a kid trying to not get touched by a beach ball.

This was not a trick question, as leftists have been trained to think.

Shrugging off responsibility and a serious discussion, apparently  because of unacknowledged inner doubts, he disappointingly pushed back with a wise-guy response:

“Define your terms,” the presumed hardliner cracked. “What do you mean by leftist?”

My friend’s flint-hearted, fear-ridden answer explained why leftists resort to violence – at Charlottesville and elsewhere. Many public-life leftists seem incapable of explaining, interpreting their supposedly muscular, supposed positions – why they screech and reach for weaponry and insults instead of identifying what they were told they believe.

So many leftists operate on automatic. They rely on scripts.

My leftist friend’s mind is 10 times sharper than his friend’s mind.

Down, Down, Down

Meanwhile, the windblown politically correct dupes at Los Angeles City Hall are wiping out the tribute to America’s discoverer in favor of politically correct aboriginals.

Mr. Lincoln, duck, sir.
