Here is a warning reminder to Americans genuinely saddened by President Trump’s announced intention to ban transgenders from the military, courtesy of www.powerlineblog.com
Cecile Richards, the frequently off-key CEO of Planned Parenthood, tweeted this unfortunate, uninformed message:
“To our transgender brothers & sisters: You are welcome at Planned Parenthood & you are welcome in this country. Standing with you.”
One Madalena McNeil replied:
“I know this is a well-intended message, but “brothers and sisters” is gender exclusionary and especially difficult for trans/NB folks.”
Tender feelings and social outrage are constant companions of non-traditional men and women in these easily offended me-too times.
In abbreviated words, these ladies made the case for President Trump’s ban than he did.
Back at Power Line, Paul Mirengoff (http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2017/07/an-attack-by-trump-on-the-whole-lgbt-community.php) tidily explains that the single purpose of the military is to defend our country, not host social experimentations.
“The question of whether transgender people should serve in the military is first and foremost a decision about how best to defend America militarily. The purpose of our armed forces is not to promote or reject the LGBT agenda. Its purpose is not to serve as a model for tolerance of transgender and other LGBT people, or to afford them employment opportunities, or even to treat them fairly as individuals. The purpose of our armed forces is to defend the country from its enemies.”
Supposedly serious state legislatures in recent months have wasted great gasps of energy debating which bathrooms which transgender persons may use.
Transgender advocates have mocked parents and others who demand, for reasons of modesty, that those born as men use the men’s restroom and similar ladies use the ladies’ room.
Lives there a reasonable person who disagrees?
Our military does not need this cloudy, bottomless political distraction.
At least not until the identity-obsessed men or women or others on that side of the debate memorize how to count.
The transgender population is numerically invisible. For attention’s sake, LGBTQ advocates disagree.
The respected Rand Corp. estimates 4,000 transgenders are in the military.
Failed math students in LGBTQ claim there are 15,000.
Sorry boys. Or girls.
