I discovered Sugru last week while surfing Amazon.

I have been blown away while playing with it since it arrived in the mail.

Sugru is the best thing since duct tape and super glue.

Sugru solves problems that tapes and glues cannot solve.

Sugru looks and feels like a combination of clay and Play-Doh. It will fix most anything.  Sugru is a moldable silicone rubber that attaches to almost everything, and sets in 24 hours to a hard but flexible rubber.

Sugru holds thing tightly, but it is removable.

An Irish woman developed Sugru in 2003. In 2010, Time magazine listed Sugru as one of the top 50 inventions of the year.

The iPad was No. 34 and Sugru was No. 22. In 2014, Sugru was available in 10 colors.

I am asking myself, “Why did it take so long for me to discover Sugru?”  To think of all the things I have thrown away in that time, which I could have easily fixed with Sugru!

The name Sugru comes from the Irish word súgradh, meaning “play.” Here are some Sugru fixes I have been dreaming about at night, and playfully creating for the past three days.

In the Kitchen

To keep our spice rack from falling off the back of a cabinet door.

To hold our food/stamp scale against the counter wall.

To hang the wet dish cloth, and my favorite measuring cup

To fix the broom handle, which wanted to unloosen.

In the Bathrooms

Two arm-shaped pieces to hold the air freshener can against the toilet-top wall.

To hold the soap sponges and my hairbrush.

To hold three small shelves.

In the Garage

To attach the car-stop device to the floor.

Hook-shaped pieces and embedded magnets to hold a variety of things

 In the Dining Room

To keep the bottoms of the chair legs from sliding

In the Computer Room

To prevent iPhone cords from fraying, and for a hook to hold those cords.

Four corner pieces to hold up a new shelf.

To create a new piece for my eyeglasses to replace the one that broke and I lost.

At the Pool

Finally, a way to increase the water level in the pool by plugging up the small holes I made in the pool wall to hold various things

Hey, what if I run out of things to fix, strengthen, protect, hang, cushion or seal?

Oh, well, maybe I’ll sleep better without thinking about Sugru fixes most of the night.
