Back in the slovenly days when he was a commoner, state Assemblyman Reginald (Lord?) Byron Jones-Sawyer was known, pedestrianly, as Reggie Jones-Sawyer.
Since graduating to whoredom as a pulltoy for unions while representing southwest Los Angeles, Reggie now ties his own shoes. Nearly daily.
RLBJS, as he is not known, is pushing Assembly Bill 1250, ignorant, harmful legislation.
His 1250 is mainly sponsored by the SEIU, known for its dirty hands and underground ethics. Given RLBJS’s limitations, that makes the union a perfect partner.
The bill deliberately would hobble, and ultimately eliminate, many of the private services contracts that cities and counties presently utilize.
Determined to reinforce the notion that he is no scholar – perhaps never has been to school – RLBJS’s bill has two major goals:
- It would guarantee the virtual lifetime employment of all public sector workers, regardless of how poorly they perform, and
- It would add a mountain of regulations for private contractors. They are specifically intended to discourage them from bidding for city and county contracts. One illustration will suffice. Tracy Hernandez of BizFed notes:
“A potential contractor would be forced to disclose to a city or county the full names and salaries of its workers and subcontractors performing work like that provided under the potential contract – as well as the compensation information for its highest paid executives. And a contractor would have to provide descriptions of all criminal, civil or local administrative agency charges, claims or complaints filed against the contractor in state and federal court for the past 10 years.”
As SEIU toadies wildly cheered his bill, Reggie held up his right hand while his left hand cleaned out the wax in his right ear. He dived, face-first, into a sandbox. Behind him.
