A Senator Who Learned His Lesson

Sen. Lara

When a guy is an obscure state senator from East Los Angeles and he hungers for higher office, he is tempted to commit an outrageous act to force people to stare at him.

If Dickie Lara, Democrat, fails to become California’s next insurance commissioner next year, he can sign up for an actor’s union card — or the next medicine show that passes through town.

Not that the name of the present insurance commissioner – is there one? — is on the lips of any non-relative.

As an Hispanic representing the heavily Hispanic neighborhoods surrounding Bell Gardens, Dickie Lara believes anyone who entertains a desire to enter America deserves the encouragement of right-thinking Americans.

Desire transcends documentation in Sen. Lara’s one-story mind. Who cares if an immigrant sneaks over the border or bothers to assemble the needed papers?

Sen. Lara says the law barring undocumented sneaks from creeping into our country does not need to be obeyed. It is a silly law. Right-thinking people know that silly laws must be ignored.

When Donald Trump was elected last November by wrong-thinking people, Dickie Lara was among the unhappiest voters because Mr. Trump had pledged to build a wall to prevent illegal aliens from creeping across the border.

Dickie Lara vowed revenge for the Trump election.

Sen. Lara’s revenge is Senate Bill 30, which passed committee inspection last week.

As a robotically loyal Democrat, Dickie Lara has pledged fealty to the party’s first commandment:

When you disagree with the stance of a political opponent, do not argue with him. You may lose. Instead, destroy him.

Since Dickie Lara virulently disagrees with President Trump’s intention to build a border wall, he brought S.B. 30, which holds:

Any company that participates in building the border wall is hereby barred from receiving a new or extended contract with the state of California.

Dickie Lara is urging fellow senators to “be on the right side of history” and support his nutty bill.

In actuality, the people on the right side of history are on the other side – of the border wall.
