The loud exhale you may have heard from City Hall two days ago could be traced to the District Court ruling blocking President Trump’s attempt to deny partial funding to sanctuary cities.

When the City Council stamped Culver City a sanctuary city one month ago today, I asked City Manager John Nachbar if he was worried about potentially imperiling federal funding.

No, he said, giving the only available answer.

You thought he would say yes?

The most pathetic line to emerge from this bizarre – purposely illegal — drama is that illegal aliens only should be arrested/deported if found guilty of a “serious” crime.

Suddenly it is honorable for all manner of people, bad and good, to spit at the law.

It is deemed heroic for unchecked droves to imitate snakes by crawling over the border on their bellies to enter our country.

How is this different from sneaking into a vulnerable neighborhood after dark, dropping to the ground, slithering into a family home and committing robbery?

How is this different from Scott Bixby’s Police Dept. announcing it only will arrest the drivers of gray cars for violations this year?

How is this different from the bankrupt administrators at U.C. Berkeley contending that they can protect liberal students from conservative students but they can’t protect conservative students from liberal attackers?

How is this different from cops declaring that this week they only will arrest black suspects?

I thought profiling was bad.

But law profiling is good? Just obey the laws you like. Surely the police will understand.
