It sounded so pristine. Polished to a high glare, a person espying it might be forced to blink.

On the subject of sanctuary cities, politically correct USA Today restated its liberal position yesterday:

“The aim of local leaders should be to keep law-abiding immigrants safe and allow those who could endanger public safety to be deported.”

Illegal immigrants are not law-abiding citizens.

Is a tall man short?  An old man a kid?

Changing countries does not merit a do-over.

The fundamental problem with USA Today’s naïve thesis is that it must be viewed through the lens of a child.

Since Mr. Trump’s election on Nov. 8, we have been subjected to daily and hourly heaping servings of heartbreaking stories by the hysterical liberal media.

All tales center around illegal immigrants fearing apprehension by ICE.

Why do they fear?

Because they know they have broken the law.

Meanwhile, our liberal friends and the hysterical liberal/fake news media tell them – and us – that the illegal immigrants are wrong. The illegals are model American citizens.

Mothers and fathers who are illegal aliens, we are told, have lived model lives.

Liberals refuse to admit that all illegal immigrants are lawbreakers.

The crookedest portion of liberals’ robotic defense of illegal immigrants is that they separate illegals into two camps:

• All but a smattering of illegals are portraits of unblemished, community-leader-types,100 percent good guys and

• An infinitesimal number, virtually invisible, go wrong. They kill somebody here and there, and deserve deportation.

Liberals consider sneaking into our country the equivalent of a parking ticket. Alleged spotless behavior – except for fibbing to gain a Social Security – erases any notion of a crime by illegals, liberals contend.

Deportation, we are told, breaks up families. Have compassion, we are urged.

Thankfully, the politically correct gentlemen who run politically correct USA Today were unborn when our Constitution was knitted together.

Otherwise, this would be a country of 99 to 100 percent liberals because many liberals do not tolerate opposing views. They are only slightly more subtle than “agree or go away.” There is no tolerance for debate.

We are horrified when we learn yet another illegal immigrant has committed a homicide.

Liberals shrug. That is why they are outraged by President Trump’s broad deportation intentions.

What if the roles were reversed?

You have not seen any liberals sneaking over the Mexican border, have you? They would be shot or detained. Hmmm.
