I Hope to be Surprised

On Friday it took us three hours to get the banking done. New technology. Ugh.

After receiving a check from the credit union of Pauline’s late brother, we then went took it to the credit union where Pauline has an account.

A new office, close to home, it just opened last week. No tellers, though. Self-serve, sort of. You transact business via a screen. Amazing what can be done. Money deposited. Checks cashed. Even change given.

The teller talks to you as if he were in front of you.

When I got home from work Friday evening, we planted the flowers we had purchased from our son Chris. I hope they survive. We had frost last Sunday, the middle of May!

Saturday again found me at the soccer field for Madison’s 9 a.m. match. Her team won 10-2. Afterward, I ran errands while Pauline was attending a Dayton Catholic Women’s luncheon. We went across the street for supper at SeaJax, a great meal after a short wait.

We changed our Sunday routine. Breakfast first and then church. By 2 o’clock we were at the ballpark for a Dayton Dragons baseball game, which they won.

Next was a match at granddaughter Julia’s soccer field that ended in a scoreless tie. We had fun, though.

At our Condo Assn. board meeting on Monday, I thought they would be voting to allow estate sales. I am opposed. I would rather see a once a year garage sale where all residents participate on the same weekend.

I am at a garage sale today helping my friend Dan. I have a few items in the sale, but I don’t expect many to sell. That is the wrong attitude. I hope I am surprised.
