The community is invited to a free Star Party at West Los Angeles College on Monday evening from 6:30 to 9.

It will be an opportunity to experience the night sky and its wonders through state-of-the-art telescopes.

The ‘scopes are connected to a computer software program that helps astronomers understand the stellar map of the universe.

Cosmology videos will be presented on an outdoor screen.

This evening of information, food and fun is provided in collaboration with Focus Astronomy, a private organization with the goal of turning students and the public onto astronomy, getting amateur astronomers more involved in outreach.

Admission is free.
