Am I a Hypocrite?

Dateline Dayton — You may call me a hypocrite. For all of my complaints about professional sports, and players, I watched the Super Bowl. I rooted for Denver, to see Peyton Manning win his second Super Bowl ring.

I didn’t just watch. Pauline and I attended a Super Bowl party, our first in 50 years. No question, all of our friends were rooting for Denver. A small group, some left before the game ended. One person left shortly after arriving. He was going home to watch television. Others left during the game.

Two televisions and four people were in our room. One gentleman joined us, saying there was too much talking in the other room. One lady couldn’t stay in her seat, whether Denver did something right or wrong. Out of her chair, she yelled and screamed.

My summary:

Denver deserved to win. They outplayed Carolina.

Peyton should retire. He did not play that well.

A couple good commercials, none worth the $5 million price.

Commercials don’t need big names to impress me. I don’t even recognize the people.

Case for Kasich

Now for politics. Now that the New Hampshire primary is over, I am pleased the Republican field has been narrowed, though not by much.

So Donald Trump trumped the field. The real shining star was our governor, John Kasich. Finishing second, he beat all the big boys and girls. Mr. Kasich is a good candidate. He could beat Bernie Sanders.

Once I thought Hillary had the nomination sewed up. But the voters fed up with Washington politics are seeing the light. She is part of the problem. Although Bernie is of the Washington establishment, he is saying what the public wants to hear.

Personally if it would come down to Trump vs. either Clinton or Sanders, I would vote Trump. Washington must change. We should vote for that change!

Oh, Shoot

I usually look at the internet in the morning, to learn the happenings around the world. I saw where another infant (in Compton) was shot. Will it ever stop? Are we ever going to insist on change? Or just say, “so what?”
