Why Hypnotizing Is Not for Amateurs

Did you know hypnosis is effective, even via video conferencing? Sixty percent of my clients use video chat. An 83-year-old gentleman was unable to attend his fifth session, and we had a video session. He found no difference between being in my office and using video chat.

Some people doubt my video clients are as successful as my in-person clients. The only concern: What happens if the video link fails?

I wait five minutes and call the client by phone. He or she awakens, the link is reestablished, I re- hypnotize and continue.

With someone in hypnosis, if anything should happen to the hypnotist when the client is hypnotized, the client would simply convert from hypnosis to sleep. In his/her own time, the person will wake up with zero negative effects.

Twenty years ago I was a representative with an insurance company to help them promote a new program. I was one of only five people who knew how to promote the program.  Consequently, I helped the company to expand and grow their new concept.

Whilst there, I met with several company doctors about the product. After the discussion, we would chat.  When they found out I was a hypnotist, they wanted me to demonstrate.

I explained the medical benefits with hypnosis – how, in surgery cases, hypnosis will help a patient a quicker recovery time. For a demonstration, my volunteer was another insurance company employee, part of the medical team, and a registered nurse.

The nurse quickly hypnotized. I showed the easing and elimination of pain. I had the client  see something funny and laugh, see something sad and cry. The most fun though was when I told her that her husband was dancing naked on the roof of the building outside of her office window.

She clapped her hand to her mouth in shock, then tapped hard on the window to gain his attention. He was not there. It was an hypnotic illusion. After a few minutes of good natured fun, I brought her out of hypnosis.

The doctors who had seen my demonstration said they needed help quickly. They took me to the registered nurse’s office. She was fast asleep at her desk.

The doctors had spoken key words I use to put a person into hypnosis. They worked. She went into hypnosis. The doctors did not know how to bring her out. She was past hypnosis, well into sleep. Saying the words needed to waken her, I touched her hand. Her eyes opened.

Refreshed, she told the doctors not to try that again, and I agreed. Anyone can hypnotize anyone. It is easy. The difficulty is knowing what to do when you have someone hypnotized. Leave hypnosis to the professionals.

In this technological society, it is wonderful to know ancient techniques — hypnosis is 3500 years old — works on the internet.
