Student News: Last Week’s Intradistrict Permit Snafu Is Cleared up

Letters to the EditorLetters

Last week at the School District Office, intradistrict permits were not accepted the first day of registration due to a clerical oversight.

The problem has been rectified.

However, we are not sure how to get in touch with parents who may have tried to turn in their intradistrict permit application, yet were turned away.

Please pass this along to any incoming parents to clear up any confusion.

Below is the official press release from Dr. Myrna Rivera Cote, Superintendent of Schools for the School District, regarding the permit process for enrolling kindergarten students.

It confirms that if you are a Culver City resident, you can choose which of the elementary schools within Culver City your child can attend if you file an intradistrict permit during the March-April timeframe and register at your home school first.

For example, if your home school is El Rincon you register there, but if you want your child to go to Farragut you can do so if you file an intradistrict permit at the district office. This applies to any of the elementary schools.

Please pass this along to any incoming parents to clear up any confusion or misinformation that is floating around.
